Bag Raiders – Turbo Love

After a truly amazing synth-wank of a release with the cleverly titled ‘Bag Raiders EP’, the Australian duo are back with something a little more grown up.

The Turbo Love EP contains two tracks of importance which have both been rinsed by the blogs so much the vinyl is now almost deemed unpurchaseable. ‘Turbo Love’ is a classy Midnight Juggernauts number (The influence is so unbelievably subtle, I’m telling you) with one of my favourite synth breakdowns in a while, the build up through the song and then the release at the end makes it all worth it. All this comes complete with Boys Noize style heavy vocoded vocals, which perhaps that Kanye fella should take a look into.

Also of importance is the second track ‘Shooting Stars’ which is more vindicitive of the original Bag Raiders style, minimal, almost vocal sounding synths and that handclap laced beat. Vocal and instrumental versions have been included with the release and I’m still unsure of which I prefer. Such a catchy tune that it’s so hard not to love this.
