Glass Candy
Is this the nu-disco sound?
Does the future consist of live gameboy and saxophone shows?
Should we be lowering the lights and strapping on Rollerblades, like, right now?
Glass Candy are a two piece act from some place called the USA (ever heard of it?) and make sparkly dance music. The band are heavily influenced by that italo-disco sound; funky bass lines, choppy synth highs, chunky square wave lows and classy hand claps.
The duo are signed to ironically named American record label ‘Italians Do It Better’ and have had several releases as Glass Candy but also on the labels brilliant compilation ‘After Dark’.

On a slightly unrelated note, don’t the stuttered, romanticised vocals seem very similar to those used by Gene Loves Jezebel in that Bruises track from ‘back in the day’ ? Give it a listen
