‘Captivating’ is the word I think. ‘Two Suns’ is the new album from Bat For Lashes and I’ve been listening to it quite a bit this week.

It’s a little melancholic but wonderfully emotional when you dig deep into it.

This is the first single taken from the album, ‘Daniel’ which is one of the more accesible tracks, yet luckily doesn’t take away from how good it is.

There is also an amazingly atmospheric remix by Duke Dumont out there too which you’ll find on iTunes. Rob Da Bank played it on his show a couple of sunday’s ago and it sounded great driving through the empty streets.

I’ve been waiting AGES to post this remix. I wanted to use it for something pretty special, so I kept it stored away somewhere safe and used it in my last mix CD ‘Take Your Shoes Off‘ (The bouncer from the intro inspired the title) and now it’s about time I blogged it.

The track is by British techno house act Idiotproof who by the looks of it, enjoy dressing like animals. This remix however was done by Duke Dumont, the London based producer/remixer who’s been making waves in the scene since 2007. His self produced work was collected on the Dominion Dubs EP which came out last year on Dubsided, highly recommended. This remix though, is just so good. It blends everything great about the original track but adds this amazing, fidgety take on that early 90s rave stab (who first used that anyway?). Give it a listen, it’s immense.
