Summer is coming, it’s right around the corner I’m told.

Which can only mean one thing! The fair (I guess it also means beach barbeque’s, bike rides and over exposed midriffs but we’ll keep hold of that for another post)

This is music I like to call ‘Fairground Electro‘. It gives off that fun atmosphere of a ghost train ride and sugar driven highs.

Collated by myself over the past year or so, enjoy these three downloads which will hopefully put you in that candy-floss crazy mood.

MP3 Download: Dragonette – I Get Around (Ratcliffe Remix)

The bets are still on for who remixer ‘Ratcliffe’ is, apart from this one remix for Dragonette the name has never arisen elsewhere. I put my money on Basement Jaxx maestro ‘Simon Ratcliffe’. Seeing as this track sounds exactly like something they would have produced about five years ago, think I’m onto something?

A fun and housy take on the Kitsune early-day favourites Dragonette, with enough dings, bells and bleeps to pass off as an arcade game.

myspace.com/dragonetteband

MP3 Download: Frankmusik – Better Off As Two (Frankmusik Remix)

It’s not often artists remix themselves but I guess Frankmusik is just that type of guy. I’m glad he did because the original is great but, this remix just tops the bill. It’s a classy bloghouse banger take on the original track with pitch-changed and glitched vocals. If this were released 3 years ago, he’d have been a pioneer.

Not so original but still a banging track.

myspace.com/frankmusik

MP3 Download: Alphabeat – Boyfriend (Bloody Beetroots Remix)

Alphabeat get a lot of stick, which I think is quite unfair. They do some pretty fun songs and actually know a few things about marketing. They drafted in both Alex Metric and the Beetroots to remix their second single ‘Boyfriend’ last year and both are great, but this is a real favourite of mine.

The cackling clown laughs and bizarre Beetroot’s chords just got mental halfway through the track. It’s like a ghost train in reverse, can I ride again?

myspace.com/thisisalphabeat

myspace.com/thebloodybeetroots
